Dada Hari Wav Water Palace

Dada Hari Wav is an ancient water palace on the north side of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.  It's one of those fascinating structures that's challenging to capture in images.  Most of it is below ground.  Think of a series of many porticoed steps that go further & further down to a deep well, with identical porticos above, so that when you get to the bottom, you're looking up at quite a bit of ancient structure above you.  Sadly, the spring has dried up & there's no more water in the water place.  But what's compelling are the kids who live next door & get to play here every day.  Once only royalty had the right to tred these steps & porticos; now poor children are palace heirs.
